Project
Being connected to history comes through the preservation of design. It is equally important to modify what we already have, evolving into the future. Our connection comes through the forms, texture and senses of what we know. My aim is to create a space that connects the harsh industrial past to a modern softness of design. I will look at the structured elements of the industrial object and site, whilst also looking at the the functions, mechanics and end produce. This will lead to the repurpose of function and space, highlighting the existing surroundings.
The study of the orthographics and concept in this project lead to this composition. The lengthy and heavy linear lines demonstrate the weight of the industrial impact the existing building has on this project. Intertwining this with texture and patchwork creates a contrast of soft stitches and craftsmanship of textiles.
