2084 Narrative
In the hallowed halls of Roche Abbey, my interior architecture and design project emerges as a testament to the resilience and spiritual revival amid the oppressive shadows of dictatorship in the year 2084. Drawing inspiration from the profound resurgence of the Ifa religion, my manifesto breathes life into space, echoing the essence of freedom and cultural renaissance. Guided by the sacred principles of Ifa, the design embraces a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation, paying homage to ancient wisdom while challenging the shackles of autocracy. Symbolic motifs, inspired by Ifa divination, adorn the walls, infusing the space with a sense of ritualistic reverence. Natural materials and sustainable practices echo the resilient spirit of those who stood against tyranny.
Spatial Concept
My project exemplifies the serene integration of natural light through thoughtfully designed walls and ceiling. Sunlight streams in, creating an evolving play of light and shadow that enhances tranquillity. The space draws inspiration from Orunmila, the god of wisdom and divination in the Ifa religion, with motifs that embody his essence. These patterns, reflecting Orunmila’s iconography, are not only decorative but imbued with spiritual significance, fostering a connection to ancient wisdom. The interplay of light with these motifs transforms the space into a sanctuary of peace, ideal for meditation and introspection.
