2084 Narrative
In the world of 2084 where connection no longer exists, due to the population increase, and the movement of people into the densely populated cities, due to lack of resources. Over productivity and surveillance technology led to living in isolation. Sparking ‘The Eye’ to now summon the new eyes of society to re-discover connection for themselves. After finding the Enigma Machine at Roche Abbey and deconstructing its parts it was discovered that connection is found along the wiring in ‘the space between’ the components. This revelation founded ‘the space between’ to find and discover a space between disconnect and a new age of connection.
Spatial Concept
The design intent of project is to create a process in which connection is found and people feel ‘seen’ again. The process of rediscovering connection is done through first reflecting on a series of questions, then writing a self-reflection letter. Next, ciphering and deciphering their letter, only to realise they deciphered someone else’s letter – creating connection through this experience. Their re-connection to the world starts in ‘the space between’, my design intent is to create a space in which embodies ‘the space between’ physically and conceptually. Allowing for people to reflect and feel comfortable out of their comfort zone, the space will feel dynamic and bold, while encompassing the soft light within their journey from going from feeling ‘un seen’ to ‘seen’.
