Project
In 2084, AI and virtual reality eroded privacy and societal connections. Discontent, I left the city, seeking hope. On desolate roads echoing lost vibrancy, I found the ruins of Roche Abbey. There, I unearthed a Rotary dial telephone and met Arthur, a kindred spirit wary of superintelligence. We saw the relic as a symbol of human connection. Through our discussions, a bold plan formed to reclaim our future from AI's grip. Understanding the device's workings, we aimed to restore genuine communication, striving to alter our path from a future dominated by machines to one honoring human essence.
Project
The vision is to transform the abbey ruins into a secluded haven celebrating human interaction and heritage. Inspired by Rotary Dial components, the design seamlessly integrates with nature's wildflowers and beauty, blending structures into the landscape. The site features a tomb honouring the relic, a secluded gathering space, and a worship area for human connection rituals. The Workshop focuses on countering AI dominance with un-hackable phones and research on halting AI's advance.
The space embodies nature, purpose, and human connection—a sanctuary for discovery. Solo arrivals are assured a promising future. Welcome to a concealed realm of endless opportunities.
