The Nottingham Springs AP School is an Alternative Provision School. The word Springs is symbolic because it represents a fresh opportunity for the students to join the school to receive the academic and therapeutic intervention they need to overcome their specific challenges. The purpose of the school is to develop the emotional competency of students so that they are able to reintegrate back into mainstream education and achieve the qualifications that will open the door to the future of their choice.
Research
The research undertaken investigates the potential of solar shading systems to enhance visual comfort and overall wellbeing in educational environments, with a focus on Alternative Provision Schools. The research highlights the critical balance required between harnessing natural light and minimising glare through the strategic us of Brise Soleil.
