Project

This is a museum/exhibition that focuses on urban design. The museum’s scope will be to function alongside the Venice Architecture Biennale and have a curator elected every 2 years, representing a different city from around the world. Each curator will be able to exhibit historical documents and models, etc., that demonstrate their city's design and planning paths. On top of that, contemporary approaches that are followed or will be followed will also be exhibited, most importantly the curator and their team will be presenting their approach and their suggestions about the future of their city. Alongside the main exhibition spaces, there are workshops and classrooms, that allow students and citizens as well as visitors, to collaborate, experiment and produce ideas.

The goal was to allow the museum’s design to reflect an urban setting. As a result, the design is about a masterplan that includes existing buildings and functions and, a square alongside other public or semi-public spaces. This masterplan reflects an urban setting which incorporates contrasting architectural styles and a variety of spaces and functions. As the square is the main open public space, it is kept without many permanent installations to allow for alterations and installations. On top of that, this square has obtained a layout that facilitates gatherings and everyday life activities.
