The Centre of Wellness

Project
This architecture project is an urban centre of wellness, seamlessly integrating the five ways to wellbeing. At its heart is a multi-sensory pool and spa designed for mindfulness, offering a serene escape to relax and rejuvenate. The community café and rooftop bar foster connections, creating vibrant social hubs. An essential oil production facility provides learning opportunities, inviting visitors to engage with nature's aromas. Our gym and rooftop yoga space promote physical activity, while the community ‘growing lattice’ encourages giving through collaborative urban gardening. Each space is thoughtfully connected to the five ways to wellbeing, nurturing body, mind, and community spirit.
My concepts are derived from the divide created due to the closure of the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre, which disconnected the Southern half of the city with the derelict site. To reconnect the city my project encompassed a spatially guided route through the site that looks to entice people in with natural elements such as my growing lattice and the spatial arrangement of my site.
