Harmony Haven
Atelier 01: Sitopia
Project
This project was aimed at the creation of a place in which self healing could be promoted, both directly and indirectly. With socail norms still not being fully accepting of all members of society asking for help, the building was designed to invite all, almost masking providing a haven for those in need of help. In a city full of concrete walls, emphasis was placed on the inclusion of a large and inviting Botanical Garden in the centre of the building, with plants and nature being left to blossom on its exterior walls.
My inspiration came from the ‘5 ways of wellbeing’ an approach that focuses on : Connection, get active, take notice, learn and give. Providing aspects of all throughout my design. Also looking as biophilic design methods, creating a deeper connection to nature that offers a holistic approach to architecture that prioritises the well-being of occupants and the harmonious integration of nature into human-made spaces.
